Decapitated Guitar
If you don't feel like practicing guitar, you can always half-practice with a Shredneck. Yes, it's just the first seven frets of a guitar neck, strings and the headstock. The manufacturer says the idea is use it for warming up, practicing fret work and building up callouses. Seems like a real guitar would serve the same purpose, and then some.
Shrednecks sell for between $80 and $90 on the Web site but you can get them considerably cheaper elsewhere (although I'm not sure why you would). They come in red, gold and silver metal-flake, as well as sea-foam green, red maple burst and a couple of models named for heavy-metal players.
The best part is that each one comes with a mini-gig bag and you can buy a little sawed-off floor stand for it.
