Popeye Plays the Blues

I thought Doc Watson might be half-right, if only for a day. "I'd think learning to play the guitar would be very confusing for sighted people," he once said (see the Guitar Talk sidebar on the right).

All day I've been wearing a patch on my left eye after taking a finger to the cornea in a recreational father-son wrestling match (the injury isn't bad and the patch comes off tomorrow. I won the wrestling match on a disqualification). My playing hasn't improved at all, however.

Regarding those quotes, sometimes I start hearing Homer Simpson's words in my head. Then I have to read Jimi Hendrix's advice to get back on track.
